VARIOUS DIETS AND TREATMENTS – THE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF MILK (INFLAMMATION)
Just as sour whey is a remedy, so is milk on its own and curds or soft skimmed milk cheese. They are each good for certain illnesses. For example, an inflammation of the gallbladder can be quite painful, but a compress of cold, unboiled milk will relieve the pain immediately. The actual inflammation will often subside after a short while and pass faster than with any other medication. Heartburn caused by indigestion, an overacid stomach, is easily neutralised by drinking unboiled milk, and this natural remedy is to be preferred to aluminium silicates. Milk, given in the form of injections, has also been effective in revulsion or stimulation therapies. Soft skimmed milk cheese (quark) has been used in poultices for grazes, bruises and benign swellings for longer than anyone can remember. The application never fails to give good results.
